Tractor-trailer Hauling Fertilizer Overturns in Scotland County

Part of a tractor-trailer unit hauling dry fertilizer overturned Thursday morning in Scotland County.

It happened just before 10:30 a.m. on Highway 136, eight-and-a-half miles west of Memphis.

Scotland County Sheriff Bryan Whitney told KTVO that the big rig was driven by Herbert Maring, 63, of Lucerne, Missouri.

Maring ran off the right side of the roadway and the trailer of the unit overturned, spilling much of the fertilizer that was in it along the roadway.

The tractor pulling the trailer remained upright.

Whitney said Maring had a minor injury on his arm, but he refused treatment at the scene.

A crew from Lakeside Towing got the trailer back on its wheels.
