The Edinburgh Bar Just Named Scotland’s Best Whisky Pub at Top Scottish Awards

An Edinburgh bar was celebrating this week after being the Best Whisky Bar in Scotland. The Tipsy Midgie Whisky & Gin Drinkery on St Leonards Hill was rewarded for its excellent whisky offering at the 2023 Scottish Bar & Pub Awards ceremony which took place on Tuesday, August 29 at The Doubletree Hilton Glasgow Central. It beat out the likes of the Potstill and the Piper in Glasgow as well as the Ardshiel in Campbeltown.

Not only that, owner Colin Hinds was also awarded Whisky Guru for his hard work as the face of the business, with the chef who previously operated The Kilted Lobster restaurant in Stockbridge, putting real effort into creating Edinburgh’s hottest new whisky and gin den.

The awards, now in their 28th year, are considered to be Scotland’s longest-running licensed trade awards. A delighted Colin posted a photo of his awards on Facebook and delighted fans were quick to congratulate him and his team. One fan said: “Congratulations – very well deserved on both counts” While another added: “Well done Colin. You fully deserve the awards.”
